Introduction to Application of TICA Air Conditioning in North Section of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 11

Shanghai Rail Transit Line 11 is a truck line connecting Shanghai Northwest Area to Southeast Area. Its total length (including uncompleted south section) is 120 km with starting from North Jiading Station, Jiading District to Jiangsu Road Station, Changning District; its branch line starts from Jiading Xincheng Station, Jiading District to Anting Station, and total length is approximately 46 km. 11 underground stations, 8 elevated platforms and 36 ground stations are established. Both truck line stations of Phase I project of North Section and newly-built underground stations use combined air handling units with total blast capacity of 2,060,000m3/h, manufactured by Nanjing TICA Air Conditioning Co., Ltd.


According to underground station characteristics, various function sections of air handling unit are provided, such as air inlet section, plate-type filter section, electronic purification section, cooling coil section with eliminator, middle section, fan section, fan section with diffuser, noise reduction section, and air outlet section.

Energy conservation measure I: reasonable configuration of filter to realize energy-saving operation and low maintenance cost

The application of combination of plate-type metal mesh filter and electronic purification filter not only can achieve filtering effect on airborne particles by common filters, but also bring effective disinfection effect.

Energy conservation measure II: variable frequency regulation of motor

Air handling unit is provided with power-driven air valve. When fan starts up, the air valve opening is 50%; when fan operates stably, the air valve opening is adjusted to 100%, and variable frequency motor is used to drive the fan; when fan is shut down, the air valve is completely closed.

Energy conservation measure III: application of labyrinth seal structure in cabinet to lead to low air leakage rate and energy-saving operation
